Overview
Bentley Motors, a renowned British luxury automotive manufacturer, is seeking an experienced professional to lead its Color, Materials, and Finishes (CMF) and Bespoke divisions. Reporting to the Director of Design, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and delivering exceptional design experiences across all Bentley products.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of CMF and Bespoke will assume a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Leading a Team of Experts: Overseeing a team of CMF and Bespoke specialists, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
- CMF Innovation: Exploring and implementing cutting-edge CMF technologies and materials to enhance product aesthetics and functionality.
- Bespoke Services: Managing the Bespoke division, ensuring the seamless delivery of highly customized vehicles tailored to the discerning tastes of Bentley clients.
- Product Development: Collaborating with the Design and Engineering teams to integrate CMF considerations into the product development process.
- Customer Engagement: Interfacing with clients to understand their unique preferences and translate them into bespoke designs.
- Vendor Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with CMF and Bespoke suppliers to ensure the highest quality of materials and craftsmanship.
- Benchmarking and Trend Analysis: Monitoring industry trends and conducting market research to stay abreast of emerging CMF and Bespoke innovations.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or a related field.
- CMF and Bespoke Expertise: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in CMF and Bespoke automotive design.
- Design Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire creative teams, generating innovative solutions.
- Understanding of Luxury: A deep understanding of the luxury automotive market and the expectations of high-end clients.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with CMF and Bespoke digital design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and SolidWorks.
